DEAP is lead by Mr. Ted, the engineering teacher. We have work on projects that involve lots of teamwork. for example, we did a project on chain reactions. We are also working on little solar-charged nightlights.
This class is focused on more "hands on" projects. Our homework is given to us online, then we would turn in the answers on a piece of paper.
What we learn?
We had to learn about elecrical circuits, and other parts of it. Things like Ohms, Currnet, and Resisters. We had gifts (quizes), and this helped us with working on our nightlights for our little buddys. We also use computers a lot, so we had to learn how to use Inkscape. Inkscape is a place where you can make designs that would later be lazer cut. The reason why we used this is because, as Mr. Ted once told the class, "Before you can have even a modle, you need a design or napkin sketch." Our design was first drawn, then put on the computer, from the computer to having the lazer cut parts.
This skill will help us in the future, and can be put on a resume for the letter we have to write to our College/University.
